TOUCH

Texture and volume of objects can evoke positive or negative emotions. After touching various objects, I translated my experience into one word. The word have positive or negative connotation. I graded these words from zero to ten — zero being the most negative connotation the word carries and ten being the most positive one. To visually demonstrate the negative and positive connotation of the words, I folded the strips of paper to right or left. Translating the three-dimensional poster into two-dimensional photographs emphasizes what is lost and gained through this process. The form I used is inspired by the tactile quality of the Braille language. The embossments encourage the viewer to feel the surface of the poster.
